"Dragon Snooker" is a story that encourages kids to pursue their dreams whilst underlining the importance of adopting a positive outlook and approach to life.

The story takes place in a world where snooker games are competed using high-tech snooker robots that evolve over time; a world where snooker champions are considered heroes, and where no kid would be caught without his very own unique snooker robot at school or at play.

The protagonist, Ding Junhui (Junhui), is a naïve young boy with exceptional sporting reflexes and a big heart. Since young, Junhui has dreamt of becoming a snooker champion; and he finally gets the chance to fulfill that ambition when he signs up for the Regional Snooker Competition together with his childhood friend and Number One fan Sasa.

But the road to success is never easy. Along the way, Junhui has to contend not just with players of different qualities, but also shady characters with darker agendas. Armed with nothing else but his natural abilities and a positive attitude, Junhui must overcome impossible odds to emerge as the region's best player and ultimately, take on the world stage.

Can a naïve young boy become the undisputed World's Number One, or is it a dream too big even for the biggest of heart? All shall be revealed in "Dragon Snooker".

Characters


Ding Junhui


– the young protagonist with a big dream

Smart , agile and possessing natural sporting reflexes; Junhui is a boy with a "never say die" attitude. A prankster in the eyes of his teachers, he is constantly seeking targets to shoot at with his cue stick. Even without his snooker equipment, he has the uncanny ability to use any pole-shaped item as a temporary cue stick.

Underneath the playful exterior, Junhui is serious and determined. When he steps onto the competition area, he is no longer a school student but an unwavering "giant" of the snooker arena.

Other than snooker, Junhui also likes playing video games, swimming and sleeping. He only plays multi-player games, where he would challenge opponents who are totally out of his league. Simply put, Junhui loves the feeling of ecstasy when he beats a better opponent.




Don


– a snooker enthusiast from Malaysia. His analytical brain and high-powered laptop allow him to see through his opponents' every move.

Don is a short and intelligent boy who is seen carrying a laptop wherever he goes. He has the ability to analyze the opponents accurately, which makes him the undisputed brain of the team.

A good friend of Junhui, Don's snooker robot is the ferocious and powerful Saber-tooth Tiger. The robot was a present from a family member and holds a priceless value in his heart.







Fan Hai Lan

– super-talented and too calm for his age; often unnerves Junhui with his indifference attitude.

A talented snooker player whose indifferent personality is the direct opposite of Junhui's, Fan is the same age as the protagonist though he has already established himself as the best player in China. Due to their contrasting temperaments, Fan and Junhui are always at loggerheads though they eventually the best of partners at Team China.

Fan resides overseas, but he is exceptionally gifted in the art of Chinese calligraphy, In order to "become one" with his work, he is forever training to be as calm as still water – an attitude he believes would help him attain the highest level in snooker. Just as Junhui is fiery in nature, Fan is the embodiment of water. Together, the two shield each other from their respective weaknesses; making them the perfect team.





Sasa


– Junhui's childhood friend and his most loyal fan.

An average student and Junhui's childhood friend, Sasa supports Junhui with all her heart, and even enters the Regional Snooker Competition together with him. She is the most loyal fan of Team China, and is always there for Ding in his quest to be the world's number one.













Shen


– Seems like an all-around good guy and a decent opponent, though he has his shady side.

On the surface, Shen is always kind to those around him and is even considered by some as frail. But underneath the mask, he is a scheming opponent and an exceptional snooker player controlling an enigmatic robot.

Shen's favourite tactic is to get close to his opponents before a match in order to exploit their weaknesses. In fact, only victories achieved by such circumstances will fulfill his twisted mind.

Originally the leader of the Bandit Soldiers, his intelligence is unmatched and his talents are admired by snooker thugs. But Shen passes the mantle to his sidekick Du, opting instead to find his joy by "hunting" snooker players.

Shen's underhand tactic is found out by Junhui and his friends during one fateful game. He eventually joins Junhui as a member of Team China after being moved by the latter's determination.


Du


– A muscle-head who believes that brawn overcomes brains, even in the way he competes.

The hulking leader of the Bandit Soldiers is born muscle-head, favoring everything that is big. His stance in life is reflected by his snooker robot – the Iron Bear – which emphasizes on bulk, strength and raw explosive power. Due to this, the Iron Bear is also most susceptible to impact damages, and possess only limited movement ability.

Du is proud by nature and believes snooker isn't simply for anybody, including small kids and most of his followers. By stealing snookers robots from others, Du thinks that he is, in fact, eliminating weak from the competition. Du eventually turns to the side of justice after joining Team China together with his former mentor, Shen.
